As one of the largest producers of children’s content in the UK, Boom Kids’ expertise spans the production of content for children from pre-school to 13 years of age. The division produces the majority of S4C’s pre-school and children’s programming and employs over 50 full-time staff. Based in Boom’s headquarters in Cardiff Bay’s Gloworks, the department houses 2 fully operational HD studios, a live gallery and extensive post-production facilities.

The group employs approximately 230 staff in Wales and in addition to production divisions Boom Cymru, Boom, Boom Social and Boom Kids, includes leading Welsh post-production facility, Gorilla, Visual Effects and Motion Graphics company, BAIT Studio and international animation brand, Cloth Cat.

Job Description

The Runner acts as a general assistant within the Department on live productions and on location across Wales to help ensure the smooth running of the production.

The role offers opportunities to gain essential experience of the process of producing content and offers wide-ranging networking opportunities that are valuable within the Media sector.

The role will include:

  • Return and transport props and equipment associated with the production.
  • Transporting children, presenters, cast, crew and production staff to shooting locations and studios;
  • Driving cars and vans between locations;
  • Carry out basic research;
  • Answering the phone;
  • Photocopying and general administration.
  • General support for the department in the office and on location

Essential requirements:

  • Full and clean driving licence.
  • Applicants should have at least four years of driving experience (for driving insurance requirements due to work duties)
  • Fluent Welsh speaker

Framework

Whilst working for Boom Plant you will be completing a 12-month Level 3 Apprenticeship in Creative and Digital Media.

Wage

Salary TBC – dependant on experience.
