Media Apprentices Pass With Flying Colours

media apprenticeships in wales

You might remember reading about Sgil Cymru’s first apprentice cohort who completed their apprenticeships in June this year. Sgil Cymru is proud to announce that the cohort has achieved a 90% pass rate, and with all of the apprentices now either working in the creative industries or having gone onto further education, each of them has laid the foundations for a successful career.

Sue Jeffries, Sgil Cymru’s Managing Director, said

“This remarkable pass rate is testament to the hard work and effort the apprentices put in over the twelve months of the scheme. It’s no secret that getting a foot in the door in this industry can be incredibly difficult, but these apprentices have given themselves the best possible start to their careers and I’m immensely proud of them.”

Sgil Cymru currently has twenty-six apprentices working in the creative industries in south Wales, all completing either level three or level four apprenticeships whilst under the employment of companies ranging from broadcasters BBC Cymru Wales, ITV Wales and S4C, to leading SMEs including Amplified Business Content, Equinox Communications and Real SFX.
