Sgil Cymru celebrates the success of two former apprentices securing places on Creative Skillset’s Trainee Finder scheme. Both Ffion Taylor and Katja Allen completed the Level 3 Apprenticeship in Creative and Digital Media in recent years and have been working in the media industry ever since.
Trainee Finder is a service that matches trainees with companies across the UK’s film and high-end and children’s TV industries. The scheme sees successful applicants added to the Trainee Finder database for up to a year. The database is open to producers of feature films, high-end TV drama, non-high-end drama or scripted comedy, animation and live-action children’s programmes to find trainees.
Ffion Taylor said:
“I was so pleased to receive a place on the Trainee Finder Scheme, as a Production Office Trainee. After completing the application process and being interviewed, I attended an induction weekend at 3 Mills Studios, London, where I got the chance to meet other trainees, and learn more about what to expect from the scheme.
My hope is that the scheme will allow me to gain experience of working in a production office for a high end film, and provide valuable skills and knowledge that will help me pursue a successful career within the industry. “
The scheme is supported by Creative Skillset’s Skills Investment Fund which encourages co-investment in skills and training to ensure a continued supply of a new generation of talent, capable of world-class creative content.
