WE NO LONGER OFFER THIS APPRENTICESHIP BUT READ BELOW TO LEARN MORE ABOUT OUR WORK IN THE PAST:
Sgil Cymru’s first Level 4 apprenticeship started in 2016, and this is the first time that this apprenticeship has been delivered in Wales.
As well as training with Sgil Cymru at Pinewood Studio Wales in Cardiff, the apprentices worked in lots of different jobs – including social media, advertising, marketing and digital media.
Companies that have offered opportunities to apprentices include Amplified Business Content, Golley Slater, Buzz Media and Future Generations Commissioner for Wales.
All the apprentices were paid an allowance by their employer, given 15-months worth of experience of working in the media as well as a bucket full of contacts which was useful for future work.
This was a Level 4 Apprenticeship, which is equivalent to the first year of university.
Don’t forget – it is possible to go to University or College after completing an Apprenticeship. However an Apprenticeship isn’t a summer job, it is a 15-month commitment.
This Apprenticeship programme was part financed by the European Social Fund through the Welsh Government.
This Apprenticeship was made possible through Cardiff and Vale College Apprenticeships; the Lead Training Provider for the Quality Skills Alliance (QSA) Consortium. Cardiff and Vale College Apprenticeships are awarded a contract of by the Welsh Government to deliver work-based learning programmes across Wales.
